My sunroof leaks like a sieve.
Started with a little sand in the lube which I tried to clean out but it just picked up more. Now the weather strip doesnt line up right and it leaks all the time in rain and the car wash is a whole other adventure. Plus the lackof good lube makes it not close all the time. The wind deflector sets off the anti-pinch mechanism.

Question 1:
If I were to re-lube the sunroof mechanism, what kind of lube should I get?

Question 2:
How do you attach weather striping? Is it glued on? It feels like there is a metal rim in it which I fear may have got bent by somebody or by the hard closing with bad lube.

Question 3:
How do you properly align the sunroof? I see 4 Torx screws that look like they adjust it. Maybe it just slipped?

Any help out there or should I just go get the service manual?

 

Don't know about the later, but spray teflon white lithium grease works well as it is not water soluble.
