I think it is....when I test drove a few H2's you actually were not directly under the sunroof........The H3 not being as wide, well you sit almost under the sunroof.....

My sunroof isn't hot, but the sunroof in the H3 is a larger one than in the 2.

I'm pretty sure the H3 and the H2 use the exact same sunroof. And as I work for a OEM glass supplier, I can tell you you don't need to worry about cracking glass if you tint it. It's tempered at 1200 degrees, so unless you park on the sun, you'll be okay.

I have noticed that you do sit directly underneath the sunroof, but i really only get hot once its completely open. Being in south Texas, it gets rather hot here during the peak summer months, so I still have those to go (being im a rather new H3 owner) but if i get too hot i just close the roof and leave the slider open. Never gotten too hot going that route.

I'm guessing solarflare is just sensitive to the heat.

sitting right under the sunroof makes it great, almost convertible-like when it is open + windows are down, I like the way it is!

OK, I have to ask.

How much does a do-it-yourself moonroof go for these days?

I reallly don't know...hmmmm. I would guess around 100-250 for the sunroof and then installation.
