I Have a 2009 H3X with stock chrome 18" rims. My tires are going to need replacing soon, and I was wondering what the best look I can get for the 18" rims that i have now. I was looking online and for the 16" rims, the best(and largest size without a lift) was a 315/r75/16 A/T tire, they looked reallly nice! Is there anything like that for the 18" tires? I'm still new to this stuff, so if im asking one of those "Are you really that stupid" questions...i'd still like some opinions haha!

 

The closest readily available size to a 315/75/16 for an 18" rim would be 325/65/18.
It's 34.6 diameter X 12.8 wide. They will rub slightly on the sway bar only at full left or right turn, 315/75/16 does too. Most of us don't see it as a problem.

Here is an invaluable tool when shopping tires...plug in a size or sizes and it will give all dimensions etc and even differences between sizes to compare. Has been a long time bookmark for me! Hope it helps

Oh wow, I didn't Think I would get 325 as a suggestion! I'll Make sure to talk to the tire guys about that one.
I talked to my neighbor and he told be about the Torsion Bar and stuff which I could use to raise my H3. He said you can get around a 2 inch lift by turning the Torsion bar, and just add 2 inch "Suspension Blocks" is what I think he called them, pretty much you put them underneath the leaf springs and it will raise your rear end.
Doing this would raise my clearance for a larger diameter in tires. Would you recommend this as a option? Or Is it not a safe way to go? Thanks For the help!

 

He has a real nice Dodge 2500 lifted with 37" I believe, and he works as a manager in a dealerships service department...so im sure he knows what he is talking about.

 

Be careful on how high you rise the front end, the CV boots can be tron up if too high. Rule of thumb is 23.5" from the center of the wheel hub to the bottom of the fender. One more thing, a leaved front end and 1" body lift you could fit 37's with some rubbing and little trimming for the rear tires.

 

The H3 will accommodate 35" tall tires without doing a thing to it. You CAN level the front end for looks but it is not necessary to do so for 35" tall tires (it does look better leveled!). NO LIFT BLOCKS! if you need/want more height in the rear use extended shackles not lift blocks, please. I agree with the earlier posts about staying at or below 23.5" from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender lip. It's the best riding "safe zone".

If you have an H3X with the I5 I would shy away from the thought of 37s. Not enough power, sorry. Plus there is a whole lot more to putting 37s on an H3 than just a 1" body lift and "a little trimming in the rear". Sawsall, BFH, Dremel and welding is necessary to do it correctly. Trust me I have done it.

Get the 35x12.5R18s you will love them!
