Snow shoes? congrats!
keeping on topic;
No sno shoes for my h3! actually i walked out the 2nd day in tennis shoes on the crust,14+ inches deep.turning took 4 backup attempts with dig out each time. it doesnt take much of this powdery stuff to get the wheels spinning but its just as ez to dig a little out and move forward.
as long as the belly isnt sitting on hard stuff you can move. you gotta dig under all the way.
turned 180, i had some tricky driving to go out as i came in.
im sure the armchair experts can tell you how to do it!
my training is finished.

no, more practice, but on level ground and closer to my bunk.
i found i can drive ON TOP! of the thick crunchy crust with the right mode and technique. i actually drove around in a loose circle,backed up and changed direction. on one attempt around a small clump i hit a deeper spot and stalled. a quik ez dig and i went thru.
i went further out in the field and bogged once. i dug in back, backed out the way in and was able to turn away from the soft stuff. on the way out i could see tracks just barely 2 inch deep in the 8-12 in crust.
so now i have real life expereince,how to and not to do it!! and nothing made up in my reports.
this crust when driven on turns to a crystal like powder that blows in the wind when shoveled yet if you drive right you can drive over it.
btw better tires and kitty litter were suggested b4. skip the litter but the orig very flat 285 tires seem to be good for driving on top and pull well when the powder is dug out. they are always in powder and do well so i doubt that a $ 1000 tire change would do much better.
tomorrow ? maybe more fun in the snow and build my knowledge arsenal!

Just leave the H3 alone and stay in your bunk!
When the snow melts, you should go and see if your psych has more effective meds to help you.
In the meantime, I found a safer way for you(and others around you) to travel:

There are 2 ways of driving in show, over it or through it. Wider tires let you float over it if its deep enough or packs. Narrow tires put more weight on the contact patch and you sink down to the traction. The problem is you can't plan for both and you can't have it both ways.
