Default Still "Jonesing" for an H3T

So I was ever so close to owning an H3T at the end of June. I had agreed on "the numbers" via e-mail with a dealer across the state. Logistically it was hard to find the time with my busy schedule to take a full day to drive across the state and take delivery. The dealer had agreed to have a driver deliver me the vehicle. The morning in which the driver was to deliver my vehicle, I got the "call" and was informed that the price had changed as they made a "mistake." This was the 2nd time a Hummer dealer had played this game. Approximately 2 weeks prior I was fixing to leave my house to drive 1 1/2 hours to the closest dealer and I called my salesguy to tell him I was on my way and he asked if I had received his e-mail with a pricing update? Now we had been corresponding back and forth earlier in the day with accessory pricing which had no impact on the deal. I said, "What e-mail?" He then went on to explain that the price had gone up $1000 because his sales manager just used the last coupon and he was counting on the coupon to factor into my deal. I said thanks but no thanks and wrote him off. His sneaky sales manager called me back 3 days later and offered me the original deal. I had enough of the game playing so I told them I had already purchased and this is when I started negotiating with dealer #2 on the east coast. So when dealer #2 changed the pricing and the incentives went down in July I was completely exhausted and had enough of Hummer and went out and bought a Toyota Tacoma Double Cab TRD Sport. Nice truck but still not a Hummer. So I have continued to watch the incentives and now with the $3500 marketing support and $750 USAA rebate I am eligible for, I started negotiating trading the Taco in on an H3T. I have numbers where I want them to be but now after driving the Taco for a couple of months I now feel reluctant to buy the H3T with all of the Hummer brand uncertainty. I do own a 2006 H3. I love my H3. The only drawback I've had with my H3 is having to drive 1 1/2 hours away for service. I am given a loaner however when I do so. Now if I buy an H3T it'll be from a dealer 3 hours away. I have a Toyota dealer locally so if I keep the Taco, service won't be an issue. So I keep going back and forth in my mind, H3T, Tacoma, H3T, Tacoma.....I'll post more thoughts later. Some good college football on now. Watching Wisconsin and Fresno State in OT.

The same thing happened to me when I was bidding on a alpha 3 1/2 hours from me at a dealer. He got within $400 of my offer so I said deal and I'd be there the next day. So i called the next day and he informed me the price had jumped up $1800 because he factored in price breaks he thought he could give me but turned out he couldnt. And we went over all the rebates before and I qualified for them all. Pretty damn ****ty thing to do after saying we had a deal. Needless to say I told him where he could stick his alpha.

At the time, I qualified for the $1000 GM owner loyalty bonus, the $750 USAA rebate, and the $4000 cash incentive. Two Hummer dealers confirmed that all could be used together and wouldn't you know at the last minute the one I was buying from on the east coast said it couldn't be used with the others. Bull****! And these salespeople wonder why they get bad reputations. So did you buy one yet?

I know exactly what you are going through. I bought a Colorado in May of 2008. I bought a H3 for my wife in December of 08 and then I got the 3T bug bad. It took several months of negotation with my wife and I finally talked her into upgrading the Colorado to a 3T. I traded my Colorado in July and came out a little light on the trade-in value.

Becareful that you dont get burned on the trade-in value of your Toyota. You might be better off selling it out right.

FloridaFeMan, I would say you are in a good position to be in and to stay in for the time being. You already have a Hummer, and there is nothing shabby about the Taco. You stated your concern about Hummer's future, so sit it out and see what comes down the road.
It's not like you need a truck, you have one and plus the H3 SUV, as we know, a great vehicle.
I'd say you are in good shape, it is one of those times if you do nothing, you will do alright.

Not to influence you in any way, but I do like the H3T myself and think all the time about trading in ( or selling outright) my 08 H3 to get one.
I am sitting it out for now, but if I don't change my mind in a year or so, or I will wait for the warranty to run out, my next vehicle will be the H3T.

If you're looking for a road trip, we have two left; one black one white. Both represent the last two Hummers we have in stock and both are discounted $10K. They're located in SLC, UT though.
