I want to stiffen up my steering not much wrong with it now but i dont want to wait till it breaks down. I want to know where to start first as i do not have a lump sum to spend(lottery plan did not work out).


I am looking for a guide of what i should purchase first and also recomended brand/parts. i do not want to lift my truck any more then stock i just want to make the steering stronger i do minor off roading but mostly its my daily driver. I dont mind spending money for parts that are going to last and are well worth it as this car is an investment for me and i plan on keeping it.

Are you just looking to put in a better steering box?
Do you just want to replace the sterring components only?
Do you want to upgrade the front end so that it can withstand some bumps and such?
Do you just want the steering tighter?
Are you trying to prevent bump steering?
and more....

I mean there are a lot of questions to be asked in what you are seeking.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish or remedy?

I want to upgrade the front end but not all at once since I don't have that kind of money. I want an idea of where to start first. I was thinking of starting with the steering components maybe the tie rods first( any recommendations). also I attached a pic of my steering gear box not sure if its just a dust shield missing or I should replace it first if at all. my hope for these upgrades is to make the steering stronger so when I take it off roading It has minimal chance of breaking.
