Default Steering loose on bumpy terrain.

Hey guys,

So I've noticed when turning, if there's a little bump, it seems to have a very significant impact on the steering and it feels like it's trying to jerk all over the place. I'm noticing this at places like freeway on ramps and other areas where my speed might exceed about 30mph. I figure the front tires are breaking traction, but with the vehicle weighing almost 6,000 lbs I feel like that shouldn't happen...

I'm just curious if anyone else experiences this, and whether it's normal or not.

Thanks,
-qui

what kind of tires do you have? may be that the sidewall is flexing giving you that wondering feel.

Steering rack, half shafts, shocks, could be any of those are worn. The steering rack also has the ability to loosen and move in its bracket. Search steering rack and look for Hunner's thread.

Loose steering rack mount bushing most likely.
