steering damper what tools needed?

I just order the steering damper( Bilstein 33-174525) , looks easy to replace but after reading a few reports of DIY pp having trouble removing the old one .
Even some reported replacing other parts that got damage
How hard should be . Any expecially tools needed
.

I had a problem removing the old one. I used the ball joint separator fork like this . Also, spray it with PB Blaster penetrating fluids.

I also installed the Bilstein steering stabilizer.

HI Citiboy ... Im going to spray Pb day before and allow it to do the work then try to remove it . If not luck then will rent the tool in A.Z .. Hopefully mine isnt too bad . I heard horror stories about it

HI citiboy ... exactly as you did .. Pb blaster then the separator fork .. took 20 min to replace .Cant believe how flimsy is the OEM . Only issue was a loose screw of the front of the skid plate not tightening.
