Default Starting Problems

I know the starting problems are related to the security system, but does anyone know how many of us have had problems with it? In my opinion, it should be a "RECALL" it's not like we have caused it, or its not normal "wear and tear" right? Its a "GLITCH" in their product!! Any thoughts on it? Lorri

There are sparatic issues with the passlock system usually related to the ignition switch. I don't know if it so common that a recall would ever be issued. There is not even a TSB on it that I know of. It is an issue that is fairly easy and inexpensive to correct.

About 1 year ago, my husband DID read that there were hundreds of people complaining about this issue (Start/passlock). I do not think $450.00 is inexpensive.! Just my opinion. What we read was very telling in how it progresses, ie...in 2009 it started having the problem in November 2 times. In 2010 it did it about 6-8 times, and the same for 2011, finally so far this year it did it about every 2 weeks. SO I finally had it with this problem, so I took it in, but found out if I had taken it in a year ago, it would be fixed under warranty, (My Bad). SO if anyone is having this symptom (not starting, and then starting within 10 minutes) take it in before the warranty expires!! The reason I thought/think it should be a recall, is that it is not a working part that goes faulty, (like it does not "wear out") because of use, it is a safety/alarm thing that WE have no control over.
