You need to run your radar detector wiring along the bottom crack between your windshield and your dashboard. You can cut the wiring and hard-wire it to something that is powered with the ignition. I don't know how good you are at wiring and so forth, but I have mine powered with the mirror, so the radar detector comes on and off with the ignition automatically.
