Default On Star Antenna Removal

Hello Hummer People...I've been reading this forum since I bought my 2008 H3 about a month ago and this seems like the place to get advice. I'm building a roof rack and need to remove the On Star antenna for some mods and wondered what's the procedure for removal? Don't want to just start jimmying around on it..might start a roof leak.

Why not work around it.Most aftermarket racks do the same. ONSTAR IS GOOD.

I'm going to re-install it once I'm done...on further inspection is this thing the On Star antenna or the XM radio antenna?..my manual says my XM radio antenna is attached to the roof.

Hummerhead, welcome. You're right in that you'll find a lot of answers and help on these forums. You may want to try the SEARCH function at the top. I searched for Onstar Antenna and found these two threads that will help you out.

Thanks, Alrock! Just what I needed...I did a search before I posted but didn't find the post that had the right info. I can now carry on with my weekend project. Thanks again!
