Has anyone mounted their spare on the roof? Is there a kit for this somewhere? This would make getting into the back infinitely easier without that swing arm. Also how durable are those rear ladders, enough for an adult to hang off of, or more for decoration?

 

Not sure about tire mounted on roof but I had a gobi rack with ladder and the ladder was very sturdy.

 

You would either need a rack or somehow attach the spare to the stock roof rails. I wouldn't put that heavy of a wheel straight on the sheet metal.


As for the ladders, I have climbed up and down mine so many times I couldn't count. They are a little on the small side but strong.

 

I have the roof rack. I was thinking of adding one of those cage things with the ladder, and then somehow mounting the tire to the roof rack cage, but I was hoping that a product already existed to do what I wanted.
