Hi all, I am living in Hong Kong and I wanted to get a H3 here. The H3 will be converted to a Right Hand Drive in AU and ship here, after that, there is a 85% tax imposed by the Hong Kong government. Total price in Hong Kong for H3: USD 100,000.

Anyway, there is a point to my story:

There won't be any warranty for my H3 in Hong Kong, not even factory defect or factory recall. I just want to know how are everyone's H3 doing? I want to know before I buy the H3 cuz every screw I fix would be coming out from my wallet instead of warranty in US...

 

85% tax??!!??..Holy Revolutionary war times tax! Wish I made your kinda money.[8D]

My friend, that is a true sign of love for and American car to go through that expense and risk...

They are pretty solid except for a few with the following problems..Although Easy fixes under warranty.

1. Transfer case Control motor acts up and sends a error code...Cycling through the 4WD funtions often, helps prevent this from happening.

2. Some engines have had to have their Heads replaced (not many though)

3. Crack in roof trim pieces (GM has issued a service bullitin)

That's it!

 

85% Tax for cars under USD 60,000, anything above would be 100% tax...

Just some examples:

Benz S-Class -> In HK _ USD 180,000.

Range Rover -> In HK _ USD 140,000.

But the funny thing is you will see more ******* and jerks driving those M.Benz and Bimmers than anywhere else in the world...

Anyway, thanks for the info and I would like to get more feedbacks just to make sure for this risky investment.
