Default So what's the deal with the slant?

Hi all - H3 newbie. Introduced myself in the other forum, but for those who missed it - hello!

I just picked up an '06 H3 on a whim, and the more I drive it, the more I like it. After just 3 days, I'm already planning on a bunch of crap to throw on it.

Anyways, I haven't decided if I'll level it out yet or not, but my question is - what's the deal with the slant? Does anyone know what it was built with the slant/why it wasn't made level?

Just curious really. I'm not new to forums (love to search), and I'm far from new with mechanics - but I am clueless on the specific H3 stuff

Aerodynamics are improved with a slant, which increases gas mileage. Raise the front, increase your wind resistance, lower your MPGs...

I like the slant, but I like the level look too.
Perhaps the raised rear is to accommodate the weight of passengers plus luggage and a trailer?
