Snow chains on 285s - problem??
Did a search and didn't see anything on this specifically .......
Has anyone ever had to run chains on their 285s or 305s? If so, were there any problems (rubbing, etc.)?
I live in California and the law requires you to "carry' chains in the mountains during winter conditions. I have NEVER had to put on the chains on any of my 4WDs, but this year (in the Hummer no less), the CHP asked to SEE the chains.
The manual says not to run chains on 285s so wanted to know if they will really be an issue if I upgrade to 285s or 305s in the future.
Thanks for the input.

I would too, I would just carry the chains and never put them on, in all seriousness you could always get another set of rims and put some super swamper tires on those and switch them out when you head out to the moutains.
