i like windex.

About forums in general... offroad forums, be they hummer or other vehicles, seem to be overwhelmed with the "dark side" of maledom. The irrationally competitive, insecure, insult the new guy to prove your manhood, bicker, act very tough, and mostly "do as i do or i have to hate you". H2 -vs- H3, H1 vs H2, hummer-vs-jeep, (and its not just hummers the jeep guys hate, if you pop by one of their forums someday you might find them ripping on rubicons as pansy poser vehicles too. So i think at the end of the day, the hater component of those jeep forums just hates anybody with a decent credit score).

Now, i'm sure most jeepers are fine guys and all, but I think they would have to admit that the voice of militant discontent does ring quite loudly from the halls of jeepville.

And in the few times i stop to read another forum, i am often dissapointed to see H2 drivers ripping on other vehicles. For 1, ours is the most (unfairly) scrutinized and slandered vehicle in history, perhaps. And for 2, if you can buy, insure, fuel, and afford beating up on something as expensive in all those areas as an H2 is offroad, you should just take a moment and have some fun. Life can't be that bad. Lighten up.

Maybe, alot of the poor behavior on some other sites stems from people who bought an H2 in '03 when they were the coolest-thing-ever-put-on-wheels, and just never adapted to facing some scrutiny for their choice of ride.

But to end, and the thing i ponder the most when browsing offroad forums, is how surprising it is to me that everybody seems to miss the simple, innocent, childish fun of having a hummer (or offroading in general). This truck is completely absurd. Its utterly a luxury, with no possible justification for "needing one", its huge, it looks weird, and it has alot of ground clearance. Life is serious, offroading and H2s are not.

I just don't get why more people don't sit back and just have fun with it all.
