Spent last Friday at the dunes. It was my first time there. I kept it in 4 Hi Lock the whole time and disabled the traction control. I lowered the tires to 20 psi. Probably could have/should have gone lower....but even with the 20 psi in my 295 BFG A/T's I had no problems at all getting around. A few of the hills took a couple of attempts to reach the top. Driver error on my part I am sure, my H3 is an '06 and has the manual 5 speed...down shifting while climbing a sand hill is a bad idea ;-)
I definitely need new/better shocks, I have almost 60,000 miles on it so it is about time for that upgrade. I had a blast, even though a few more ponies under the hood would have been nice.
I wish I would have tried 4 Low Lock though just to see what it would do.
