Hows it going everyone my name is Austin. I have been looking to purchase a H3 for a while now I found one today a 2006 H3 with 118,000 on it. They are asking 9500. 2000 below blue book. This is where I need the help though. There are some issues. The bcm was just replaced do to a fault. I read the mechanic notes he said there was 2 draws to the battery as well from the stock radio and the after market wires he had a sub hooked up to. I went and spoke with the mechanic about it he said that he just unplugged the radio and it solved the draw issue. So no radio. By the way I live on Kodiak Island in AK. You get what help you can get haha. Also the driver side widow does not roll down bc it is not hooked up i am hoping. The sun roof gets jammed after sliding about 2 inches back. There is a slight ticking coming from somewhere in the belt area. There is also a nice long crack all the way across the window haha. So my question is is it worth the hassle and how much should I ask for it or is this thing going to end up being a money pit?

I guess you need to consider how much are replacement parts to get shipped there?

With Amazon Prime it is free. I can do most of the work myself. I did some research these sounds like pretty common problems with the H3. The fixes don't look to be that expensive. From the sounds of it looks like it would be worth my while to just get a whole new audio system. The bottom line from the seller is 8200. Just the 118000 with electrical problems strikes a little bit of fear in me.

 

Personally, I would stick to '07 or newer and preferably '08+. Either way, I'd pass on that one.

 

Although an H3 is awesome in itself - you got to go with your gut feeling on this one.
$8200 is pretty low price - is it possible the current owner is fed up with it and wants to sell it out of frustration with issues?

I would be more concerned with window, sunroof first myself - sunroof especially. You dont want water damage in the dashboard area

 

Pass and find an 07.5 with the relocated window controls and 3.7L.
