My truck was born 10/05 should I be worried???

If your VIN# is higher then this one you should be OK...

 

That sucks!!! My last 8 are 68178008.....I am not surprised...seems like my luck lately!!!

I am going to take it in next week. The check engine light has come on twice now. Is there anything I need to insist they do in order to get this fixed?? UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Copy a couple of these threads stuck to the top of this H3 forum and show them what you are talking about if they play dumb.

 

Shoot you think with all of these posts about the light coming on that they would have fixed the problem. My brand new 2007 just popped up with a check engine light at 1600 miles!

Gonna go call OnStar and see if they can give me some details... any other ideas would be great, closest dealer is 90 miles away....

 

My Engine light comes on every morning when istart it up before going to work .I scan it and it comes up with P0302 or P0300 which is misfire codes
My vehicle was made in 08/05 and has 23000 Miles on it. I'm hoping it will go away.

 

Hate to be a bearer of sad tidings..But you need your head replaced...

 

Misfire codes don't just "go away" when a head replacement is needed. Why would you not head straight for the dealer and get it checked and taken care of while its stillunder warranty???

 

Hello guys,I just got my 06 H3 today as a gift from my wife. Build date 12/05 and a VIN 68217672. It has 18,500 miles on it and runs awesome. No check eng lights for me so far, but thenI've onlyowned it for 13 hrs now.

After reading all the stuff above I know my vin is in the range of trouble for this head issue. Do you think I'm going to have a problem. Is there a way to find out if it's already had this head replacement done.

I love my H3. I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas????

Congratulations! I would suggest you go to your local dealer and request a repair history on your H3. Perhaps this would shed some light for you. Is it still under warranty? Perhaps you might want to consider shelling out the $$ for an extended GMPP warranty plan for the added peace of mind. While the head replacement is/was a huge issue for the 06's - there are MANY MANY that will more than likely not ever suffer this issue, so no need to worry without reason. Good luck and enjoy!
