Lightbulb Setting Auto Lock Options?

I did a search and didn't find anything on setting auto lock options. On my 2007 H3 when I press the lock on my remote it flashes the lights but does not "chirp". Also I would like to turn off the auto door locks. Is there anyway to access these settings?

Thanks

Your can download an Owner's Manual at hummer.com Select Owners then Owners Resources. All the information you need is contained in the manual. You can download a manual for your specific model year.

Thanks. This vehicle did not come with any papers other than title. A manual would be very helpful... Any source for repair manuals that actually have some detail in them?

Thanks do the info, RKSmith. Downloaded the owners manual and saved it to my iBooks on my iPad. No reason to ever be without it now.

So I found out how to change the options on auto-lock but the option I want is not among the "options"... "OFF". I just want it to stop locking and unlocking my doors. I'm ready to start cutting wires if that's what it takes. Twice the car locked us out with the keys in the car. The first time I was at a gas station and I put the keys on the dash and got out to put in the gas. Fortunately I had the back door open for something so I was able to retrieve my keys. The other time our son had started the car to warm it up and came back in the house. When we went back out a couple of minutes later it was idling with all the doors locked. Cost $60 to have a locksmith open it (the other key was at another home one hour away). I really don't think the lock is supposed to activate when you leave the car unattended (I've tried it with me inside the car and it doesn't auto-lock). Maybe there's something loose in the door that activates the lock when the door is slammed. At any rate, I want to find some way of stopping the car from locking by computer control. I have a lock button and I know how to use it...

Sounds strange. Do you have any aftermarket alarm or remote start?

I have an 07 and it will only lock when I lock it by fob or lock button (not including when the engine is running and the AT is placed in gear). Never locked me out.

Just bought the car but I don't have any knowledge of any aftermarket system. It only had 19k miles when I bought it and it looks like new but of course that is no guarantee that the previous owner may have had it modified...

I know that those in the stolen car industry can manage to get around these systems. I just wish there were an "alternate" system code for the CPU that could be downloaded and installed on the computer to replace the factory program. Any good hacker should be able to do this and I would be great to get more control of the options on all these modern computer dominated vehicles...

Your auto-locking settings can be set by inserting your keys and turning to ON position. Afterwards turn key to LOCK position but do not pull key out. Hold the LOCK button on your driver side master switch. Your DIC should now display LOCK 1. You can change it by holding the reset stem and to set, just briefly press the reset stem. Here are the lock settings:

Lock 1 (default): On vehicles with an automatic transmission, this mode locks all of the doors when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P) and unlocks all of the doors when the vehicle is shifted into PARK (P). On vehicles with a manual transmission, this mode locks all of the doors when the vehicle speed is greater than 15 mph (24 km/h) and unlocks all of the doors when the key is removed from the ignition.

Lock 2: On vehicles with an automatic transmission, this mode locks all of the doors when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P) and unlocks the driver's door when the vehicle is shifted into PARK (P). On vehicles with a manual transmission, this mode locks all of the doors when the vehicle speed is greater than 15 mph (24 km/h) and unlocks the driver's door when the key is removed from the ignition.

Lock 3: On vehicles with an automatic transmission, this mode locks all of the doors when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P). The doors will not automatically unlock. On vehicles with a manual transmission, this mode locks all of the doors when the vehicle speed is greater than 15 mph (24 km/h). The doors will not automatically unlock.
