OK. It's the power steering pump. 99.9% sure because of symptoms that happened today. going to swap fluid with new synthetic tomorrow. also change gear oil with synthetic. minor clutch problem too [:@]

the symptoms amplified to the point I could pinpoint exactly what it was. Power steering fluid was almost black, changed it this morning with synthetic. also changed manual tranny gear oil to full synthetic. about to drive it. we'll see what happens.

Everything seems ok for now but there is still a little chatter coming from it, only noticable at arms length though. So far so good.
