Hi guys. First time poster. Next week I'm flying to look at a 1996 h1 four door hard top td.
My question is, can anyone here run a Vin to get dealer service records? I want to know if the dealer has replaced the engine at some point. And have more info.

Pm hummech this info and your contact info. He can run the VIN and tell you what has been done under warranty. If the truck is somewhere close to some forum members someone who knows the trucks might be able to take a look at it for/with you.

sorry, the AM General web site has been down all week due to the storm back east, it just came back up this morning. that vehiclehas one open recall for a throttle bell crank that needs to be replaced. it has never had the engine replaced. it had a lot of work done to it with very low mileage which tells me that the shop working on it at that time did not know what they were doing. it has had two full sets of ball joints, two fuel injection pumps, one pcm and a lot of A/C repairs all with in 8k miles when the warranty ran out. very low miles for a three year old vehicle at that time. the warranty was a 3 year or 36k miles which ever comes first.
