Smile Service 4WD light

Hello Yall!! I have a 2006 Hummer H2. About a month ago, the service 4wd light came on and i took it in to be looked at. I was told my 4wd was fine, it was just the sensor. My question is at this time it only came on once.
Now since about Thursday of last week, it stays constantly on unless i hit the button on the steering wheel. What does this light mean? Is this serious? another sensor error? the reason I am posting here, my hummer didnt no come with the manual!

Thanks,
Kimberly

If your talking about the traction off light is staying on it means the brakes are getting hot going by the manual.

I'm having the same, frustrating problem with the "Service 4WD" notification. I took my 2003 H2 in and they told me a wire was damaged near the transfer case. They replaced it and about a week later, it started coming on again. Could this simply be a sensor as Kimberly was told, or something more extreme ? (Shift motor inside transfer case ?)

Thanks for any help / insight forum members may have.

Stu

Sensor could be sticking but if they told kimberly it was the sensor why didn't they change it out.

2008 H3. Svc 4WD and Traction control fail message. Resets after ignition off for several hours. All good till placed in reverse. Then message returns and 4High indicator extinguishes. Anyone else seen this?

Just wondering, why didn't you get a new manual while you had it in at the dealer?

FWIW, it probably is just a sensor.

I have a 2008 Hummer H2 with the service four wheel drive message. I just replaced the encoder motor and it is still on. What's next the switch?

This thread is 4 years OLD, who are you talking to.... to.... to....to? And it was started in the wrong section. If you have H2 questions, ask them in the H2 section.
