Ya’ll might want to ask her, under what conditions she wants to disable the alarm.

I for one, use the screw driver trick when I’m pulling a trailer around on the south forty
loading up tree limbs, hauling hay or any number of other tasks that require me
to enter and exit the vehicle every couple of minutes. I get so tired of hearing that
frakkin' chime.

However, you guys are absolutely right when it comes to driving at speed.
