Default Seat belt alarm faulty

My seat belt alarm goes off with the red light on the dash even though I have my seat belt fastened everytime.

Anybody know what is causing this?

Not sure but I believe there is a connector under the drivers seat that goes to the belt. When I first got my H3 it was unconnected and my belt alarm did not ding. Might want to check there to see if something might be wrong or shorting out?

Yeah I replugged all the connectors under the seat but same problem. My gut feeling tells me its the switch/sensor that detects the seat belt is connected. Where ever that is im not sure..

So after many months of enduring the annoying seat belt chime. I finally solved the problem and like a good internet forum mechanic im back to share the solution with you all.

The seat belt buckle has a 2 wire switch in it that runs underneath the seat. Mine has been caught from the movement of the seat. Luckily all I had to do was pull the cable free and reconnect it and it started working again.

Seat belt switch hummer h3Now as an extra bonus for those of you who keep asking how to disable the seat belt warning alarm & light because you don't want to wear you seatbelt all you need to do is disconnect this wire and the computer will think your seat belt is connected at all times. Basically the switch feeds power back to the SDM (https://schwarttzy.com/wp-content/up...irbags-1-4.pdf) when the seatbelt is not fastened. So when you fasten your seatbelt it disconnects this power to the SDM thus telling the computer you are wearing your seatbelt. If you disconnect this wire under the chair you will achieve the same thing.
