Hey Guys

Found some royal purple dealers here and wanted to get all my oils changed, right from the engine, gear box, transfer case and front and rear differentials!

I have googled whats best and no one has a proper answer on what oil the gear box, transfer case and diff's use! I am confused as well.

Can someone help me out here.

I require:

1. Royal Purple Model number of the oil used? if anyone has used em?
2. Any filters other than the engine oil filter to be changed?


Any help with be greatly appreciated!

 

the guys at Royal purple asked me what Grade oil does the H3 use, are they grades of oil for the :

1. Engine?
2. Gear box?
3. Transfer case?
4. Front and Rear Diff's ?

 

All that is on your list and more is in the owners manual. If you don't have one you can download one from GM for free.

 

Since mine is a Alpha with auto trans I can tell you I use 10w-30 for motor, and transfer case the same ATF as trans. Im sure you will use 75-90 for difs.

 

Holy snaps Hotrod, Takes more time waiting for a response than it does to= 1. Go look at your manual 2. download a manual and find the answers.

Mine is a Auto too. The dealer last changed all oils at 60,000KMS, Major service.

Currently the car is at 116,000KMS going in for major service at 120,000Kms.

Instead of using the regular stuff this time, i wanted to put in some much better performance oil as we do a lot of dune bashing here.

Cooler it is, the better i guess!

3 5w 30

I changed all mine over to royal purple. I do know one thing about royal purple, it is all I run in my offshore boat. I made the switch from Mobil one to RP my oil temps dropped 20 degrees and my oil psi went up a few pounds. I run K&N filters with a magnet also.

 

Hey guys

The dealer won't tell me what exactly they use. The royal purple guys, don't know which ones are required for the diff, transfer case and gear box.

I have a doubt, so does he, and several suggestions online.
