Default Rought Idle P0017 and P0106P

Hey Guys, you may remember I just had some issues and replaced the oxygen sensor, thermostat and an ignition coil to get rid of my last codes and problems. Last night on her way home my wife noticed that the truck started to kind of stall on her. I started it up this morning and sure enough the idle is very rough. I got the P0017 and P0106P codes from it. Any suggestions? I see some info on camshaft sensor for the P0017 code and also bad oil (but can bad oil cause rough idle?). Also a bit confused with the Pending code, what does that mean?

The cheap one is a CRANKSHAFT Sensor, the second more expensive one is a VVT Solenoid and likely not what you are looking for.

P0017 is either, or both, possibly a malfunction of the CAMSHAFT (CMP) sensor and/or of the Crankshaft (CKP) sensor.

P0106 is regarding the MAP sensor and probably be regarded as a product of the P0017 issues until they have been ruled out.

Check the wiring to the sensors, and then either flip a coin or decide by price as to whether you want to try the CMP or CKP first.

So before I read this I actually went ahead and purchase the MAP sensor, solenoid and the camshaft sensor. I replaced the MAP sensor only and rough idle went away and truck runs fine again. The engine light went off while driving home. When I got home I still read P0017 and P0106, no more P. I reset them but is it likely one will return and should I still replace the sensor?
Unfortunately I created another problem for myself. When I removed the solenoid and camshaft sensor earlier today I wasn't certain I tightened them well enough so I went back and tried to tighten them a final time. Well I broke off the head of the screw that holds the solenoid in place. I have no clue how to get the rest of it out or where to get a replacement. Is this something I can do myself or should I take it to a shop? CAn I just get a similar screw to replace this from hardware store or automotive?

If the bolt is not snapped off flush with the head then you can try a vise grip (locking) pliers to grab what sticks out and remove it. If it is flush with the mounting surface, you can try a bolt extractor, or do it old school slow and drill it out and re-tap the hole. The fastener is nothing special, you just need the correct size.

From what I see it broke inside the hole, not very deep but I don't think its flush, either case no way of grabbing it. I Can not see for sure as I dropped the head and cannot find it, probably stuck somewhere on my lower plate. I am already gearing up to get an extractor set, my wife should pick one up on way back from work.

Shouldn't be hard to get it out with an extractor set since you just had it out, take your time with it. Might can get it out just with a left handed drill bit as you are drilling for the extractor. Worst case scenario you have to drill it out and install a Helicoil in there. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BREAK THE EXTRACTOR. It will make the job a lot more of a pain, better to drill it out and install a helicoil than break the extractor in there
