Ok, have a 2008 H2 and I seem to have the typical roof rack problem. The securing ***** spin and spin but the bracket will not slide forward or backwards. Worked on it for a good ten minutes but just will not loosen enough to slide. Ideas?

 

Try to push down hard on the ***** and see if they "bite" while turning?

 

I feel your pain. I had the same problem. I found that the screw in the **** had rusted and were bent from P/Owner over tightening them. I had to get my hack saw out and cut the ***** off. Try not to damage the hooks. Once you get the racks off you can replace them with new ***** (good luck finding them) or rig up some thumb screws and washers.

Yep, worked for me. A little messy, but at least they didn't snap off.
