my sun roof will not slide back. opens up but will not slide back into the back roof. itmoves down but will notslide back.. help...

please explain more. What do you mean it will open but not slide back? Can you get it to pop the back up but can't fully open it? You know, push the button foward works but push to go back doesn't?

Do you mean that it doesn't go all the way back into the roof, more info would be helpful.

Guess he took it back to the dealer, we will have to wait and see.

i guess i need to explane more.. there are 2 ways you can open it. it opent UP fine. the other position is back. the roof pops down and slides into the roof. well mine till not slide back. just pops down..

Definitely need to take it to the dealer. Sounds like the track may be messed up. Don't really know, I'm from the days of the old reach up and flip the handle sunroof. lol But does sound like it's probably a track issue. Dealer

If your problem is like several others have had and described on here, there are plastic slider bushings that allow the roof to slide straight on the tracks so it won't bind when moving it. If those sliders break, or just were out, they need to be replaced. The good news is a whole set of sliderd for the roof is cheap, but probably a dealer only install, as they are a PITA to get in correctly. Good luck and post back what you do to get it right.
