Ive got one too and it raised a chuckle when I asked about as though everyone else knew the secret.

In my case it turned out to be a FOG Light switch (FOGs required here in UK) Whoever fitted it just wired it to a permanent 12V supply and not via the ignition switch so I have to remember to turn it off to avoid draining the battery.

A switch in this position seems to be a common thing, but not stock I feel.

i have similar, mine turns on my DRLs and mine too is wired to +12V and it's annoying as hell. I always forget to turn them off when i get out. Flip side is i can drive with the headlamps on and the DRLs also at the same time if needed.

I've got one in my H2 also. It controlled the light bar that was on the roof. Previous owner decided to keep it before I bought it.... Still got all the wiring though....
