Road Trip Report
I drive a 2009 Adventure Model with a Rough Country lift running on BFG T/A KO2s. The trip was about 1100 miles round trip. Here are a few observations.
I got close to 20 MPGs round trip. I drove 75-80 most of the trip.
The truck was very comfortable even with my back issues. There was plenty of cargo space for five days worth of luggage, entertainment options for our teenagers, and so forth.
The auxiliary outlets are great. Everyone was satisfied with devices charged and on.
If you have tall passengers beware of how much you lower the front seats. It can kill the rear leg room.
Make sure all drivers are comfortable with the truck. I did all the driving except for about a 15 minute nap. Next time we are taking the car!
We got stuck in a long construction delay for about twenty minutes. The engine temperature gauge never moved, but the external temperature in the mirror did. I did have the sunshade open the entire time.
The truck ran like a beast. I only wished for more power once on a curved short uphill on-ramp.
Satellite radio is a bonus - especially with the Monsoon system.
Overall it was a great trip and the H3 is a great truck. We will be back on the road on a solo trek across Ontario and back this week.
