Default Rims for H3

Hi! I just joined the Hummer Forum and am hoping to find some help. I have a 2006 H3 and was told that I need new rims (my tires are slowly leaking and apparently the corroded rims are the reason why). My local mechanic can't get Hummer rims or even chrome rims (my H3 has chrome rims now -- I got the luxury package). I live 90 minutes from the nearest Hummer dealership and really don't want to have to make the drive there. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding rims online? Thanks so much!

for starters I would try to stay away from GM rims but that would depend on the person. Personally I think they are some of the ugliest rims and I have been stuck with them for the past 5 years As soon as its time to replace the tires, only 30K miles and still showing plenty of life in em', I am planning to replace the rims and tires. Thus far I am set on the Ultra Mako rims (in chrome but they have them in a variaty of colors), you can get a package at around $1200 to $1300 online if your are willing to go with 17" to 18" rims, and I see no reason to go bigger unless you want to lose more milage. Just google the rims and you will see the options.

Thanks for the advice! Would my Hummer hubcaps fit on any rims? I have the H3 luxury package (chrome rims and hubcaps). I think I have either 17" or 18" rims (will check). Do you know where Ultra Mako is made? I prefer US or European made parts. Thanks!

The chrome "wheels" you have are 18's I believe. Do you have an alpha? Because not all luxury/chrome packaged trucks come with the 18's you have.

But I'm fairly certain if you take the tires off the stock wheels, you can actually clean that corrosion out and it will stop the leaks.

I would get some nice 16" or 17" dick cepek wheels with some nasty 35's and call it a day.

They have tried twice to clean the corrosion off but said that this will be an ongoing issue unless I replace the rims. Not really looking forward to this unexpected expense! My tires are less than 2 years old so they have plenty of life left in them. I don't have the Alpha (don't think it was available in 2006). I have the 2006 H3 with the luxury package and additional chrome add-ons so I would like to keep the wheels chrome. Do Dick Depek wheels come in chrome? I didn't see that on their website.

I believe there is a recall for this issue, and you should be entitled to new ones free of charge from GM, I remember seeing a thread about this here, but can't remember what it was called

Ya I'm pretty positive there is a recall where they will replace your wheels for this very issue.

But I dont think dick cepeks come in chrome.

Besides its a HUMMER not a civic... leave the chrome alone. Powdercoated all the way hehe

dick cepek wheels are fugly go chrome or go home ! plus why compare to civic? civics is probably the last car you should compare or put chrome wheels onto. Chrome is well known for truck applications. get it together bud !

Ya chrome is well-known on parking-lot-queen TRUCKS, bud POWDERCOAT is wellknown on trucks that go further than the side of the road.

Besides, Dick Cepek has more than just one type of wheel.. to say that every single last one of them are ugly seems almost asinine.
