I went to back up a hill tonight over a curb. The h2 made a popping noise and just revedded up. The reverse stopped working and the forward gears don't change right. Have I blown my transmission?

 

Ok, shop says it is transmission. $300 to take it out and reinstall. How much does a rebuild cost? Do i need a new one or should I go used?

 

Well yow much is new compared to a rebuilt?

 

1725 rebuilt from monster transmission. 1610 new from GM part direct. Monster is rebuilt to handle more power so ?????

Safer to go with a well known manufacturer like gm. tough call. I had mine swapped out at a trans shop and upgraded to a 4l80e with a heavy duty torque converter and servo. it shifts hard now but it doesn't get as hot while towing a trailer..so it was a trade off.
