I posted this in the general forum. I know everyone does not look at the other forums except for this one. So if anyone is interested in offroading this weekend in the nevada (Las Vegas) area? Or if there are other locations not to far let me know all ideas welcome. [sm=gears.gif]
do you like how we hijacked your thread? sorry dude . . . .

hey..it keeps it on top for him...sorry zoo

shorty, it was an old abandoned logging road and was solid when I decided to give it a try, the ground had no ruts in it, the ones you see I made turns out the entire area was a swamp due to underground water springs that was just frozen over. I found out the hard way The tahoe did better than I thought but I used every ounce of HP she had, I don't know if the h3 is going to be able to pull through trails like this one. I hope so.

if you can keep the rear end from digging in, you should be good. stuff like that is tricky, speed can dig you in or keep you rolling on top, it's hard to judge until you're in it. a winch in stuff like that should be mandatory, plenty of trees to use for recovery.

a come-along? you get the skid plate suctioned up against that mud, and your come along will be going along, along with the trash. not a chance one of those could help you out of that. your hunting partner better be big if that's all you take along.[sm=jawdrop.gif]

I was kidding, I had a portable winch but sold it when I got the tahoe, never got another one. I need to get one for hunting season this year though. that adventure last year scared me into realizing that I need to invest in another winch.

too bad the h3 doesn't have a receiver up front like the H2 does. the cradle winches are nice, you can take them off when you don't plan on going anywhere that isn't paved.

No big deal, at least your talking about offroading. Dang it's too bad we can't get some sort of offroading event or gathering for the forum.....[sm=groupwave.gif]

it is possible, my fishing forum has a rally every year in Mississippi and 500-750 showed up last year! We had guys driving in from Maine,Mass,NJ (me) and even California! It was an awesome time. This board needs to take out some of the garbage first in order to make it a possibility.
