Default Replacing rear shocks

How hard is it to replace the rear shocks? I haven't seen any write ups on it. Thanks for the info.

it is no harder than any other truck shocks. I believe they are even the same part number as a 1500 chevy rear shock

Lift vehicle & support the rear axle at ride height.
Remove 2 upper mount bolts.
Remove the lower bolt & nut.
Remove shock.
Install shock.
Install the 2 upper mount bolts, tighten to 26 ft. lbs.
Install the lower bolt & nut, tighten to 70 ft. lbs

With the proper tools, should take around 1-hour.. GL

Thanks for the help. I've never done shocks before and it seems like every car is different so I wanted to make sure before I got in over my head.

Hey Hummerz, I saw in an old post you put Monroe Reflex shocks on yours. Did you raise your front end by cranking the torsion bars and if so, did you put a spacer on the new shock?

Motley, if you're going to put new shocks on the front, just get the right length. No need to use a spacer on standard length shocks when longer ones are available.

I had Bilsteins on my last H3, but I'm hoping to go with something a little more budget friendly this time around.
