Remove H3 Nerf Bars?
#5
Are you 100% sure? I have had some other people on a auto forum say:
"yes
removing that bar will screw up your car, after a few months with it off you will notice the doors will be harder to close
eventually the frame will bend and you will be screwed."

If the other auto forum is for vehicles other than Hummer - you may consider the source of the advice. The Chrome or Black tubular side rails that have a small step area - are commonly referred to as "nerf" bars. These are for decoration and to assist the entering and exiting of the vehicle via the "step". They are not required for the vehicles integrity nor the frames nor the operation of the doors. Remove them if you wish. Definately remove them if you plan to go "offroad". Most offroaders replace the nerf bars and install rocker rails (aka Rock Rails) that protect the underside of the door area against damage from rocks, trees, etc. However for street driving, neither nerf bars nor rock rails are required.

If you plan to install Rock Rails I would put bolts into the threads to help prevent rusting. Anti seize might be a good idea as well.
