dealer installed i an ok option if you have to pay somone...but installing it to work on your factory remote is such a complete waste......a typical remote start unit can give you 1/4 mile range if not more...by putting it onto the factory remore you limit your range to the puny limit of the stock remote...200 feet or less in most cases.

Contacted Hummer dealer today, they say no factory remote start available at this time for 2007 H3and they don't recommend an aftermarket because of electrical issues. They say 2006 and 2007 have a few differences.

If you don't want to wait for the factory install, then you might try a Best Buy...my last truck was a 99- 4 runner and they installed the remote....4 years and no problems with it.
Gosh I am really curious, what major electrical differences exist between the H3 2006 and the 2007..did the engine and/or electrical systems need that much of an overhaul that the 06 remote start that i got can't function properly in your truck?

I think success rate of said install is probably dependent on theBest Buy or Short Circuit City you take it to .... I've personally seen some really crappy work coming out of both those places and would be inclined to suggested a reputable car A/V shop as the prefered place to go .. just my own opinion on the matter but after you've had a couple of factory harnesses cut to pieces by em, you tend to get a wee bit hesitant ...

I think the difference in teh two years is simply different wire color coding. They are probably using a different wire harness which uses different colored wires thus not matching up to the remote start's wire diagram. It happens alot in the industry and its a major PITA!!!

I worked at bestbuy part time for 4 hours. I was installing an aftermarket headunit/ch changer. and the install department manager told me that I didn't need a rubber grommet in the firewall...just run the wire through the hole. I asked him if he would sign off on the job if I did it his way, he said no..I said good-bye!!
