I'm sure this has been asked before but... I am looking to replace the existing rims/tires on our 1999 h1. There are 37x12.50Rx16.5 tires on there now with run-flats and a 2 piece rim. I would like to go with something that stays in balance longer and is quieter on the open road. This truck does not see much off road use but I still need it to preform if needed. I would prefer not to modify or lift it up to fit a larger rim/tire. What would be the Min/Max rim/tire combo I could run? Could I use a one piece rim/tire from a later model year
like a 2001 - 2004 H1? Sorry for all the question but tire are not my thing

 

Any stock OEM H1 wheel/tire combo will work on your truck, regardless of the year truck it came off of. The 1 piece 17" wheels can be bought relatively cheaply ( 700-1000/set ) Many people prefer to take out the run flats. That opens up the options considerably on who can mount and balance the tires for you. The OEM later year tire size is 37x12.5x17. Goodyear MTRs, Duratracs, Cooper STT, KM2, etc are all good tires for the H1, along with several others. make sure you get a Load Range "E" tire.
The 16.5" wheel is fine but the tire selection is pretty limited.

 

I prefer the Hutchison 2 piece dual beadlock wheels from the 2002 and up years. Pricing is $2500.00-$4000.00/per set, depending on how big a hurry you are in.
