Rear suspension diff torque
Hey folks I am getting contradictory results while looking up some torque values. I need to know the torque settings for the following:
Rear axle diff cover bolts Rear axle diff cover fill plug Rear sway bar end link bolts top and bottom Rear track bar bolts I have seen random numbers and I thought if I post here and get random numbers at least we can talk about it. I see 29 fp for the diff cover bolts I see 77 fp for the track bar bolts I see 24 fp for the stabilizer end links (top and bottom) I see 24 fp for the diff cover fill plug Thoughts? |
I just did all that a few months ago. I just used my 1/4" Milwaukee m18 fuel impact screw gun then snugged everything down with a ratchet by feel. so far nothing loose and nothing leaking. the heavier stuff I just used my Milwaukee 1/2 M18 impact gun till I saw it stopped turning the nut just a few chug a chuggas. so yeah no clue either even though I have a service manual somewhere on a computer. now if the parts where aluminum then yeah make sure to torque to value. lol learned the hard way :)

Gotcha. I guess I’ll try the numbers I found. I don’t have any air tools. Guessing it should be ok. I did pull them from a service manual page I found online. Hopefully it’s legit.

mine where 18 volt battery powered Milwaukee. I don't have a compressor that can handle air tools.

Gotcha. I ended up going with the numbers I found. Worked out ok. Time will tell for sure.
