After multiple attempts, I have not found a resolution. Ive tightened bolts, removed parts, added parts and the door still clunks.

Any suggestions??

Try checking Jack,make sure it is secure.

 

For normal commuting I have removed my jack because there is nothing I can do to keep it from making noise.

 

If you close the door normally and it clunks when you pull on it you need to adjust the tapered latch, properly.

 

mine used to clunk. had the hardest time finding the cause. turned out to be the bolts on the latch. 1 was a little loose, one was half way out, and the 3rd was completely out and rolling around in the hatch. i put it all back together. fixed.

 

Ive removed the jack, along with all other things in the rear cargo area. I also tightened the screws on both parts of latching mechanism.....and SOB!!!! the clunk is still there
