radar detector/ gps power

Default radar detector/ gps power

becides unpluging them, is there any way to make my radar & gps turn off when the vehicle shuts off ? the 12v(?) ports stay on even when the hummers turned off.

i guess u could use the switched power wire to the radio

If he is good at wiring, that is not a bad idea
They also make cigarette lighter receptacles that only go "hot" when something is plugged into them. He would have to change out one of the existing 12V receptacles, but popping off the metal cover on the dash is pretty easy work.

Depending on what accessories you have, there may be some hot wores under the drivers dash that are unused. I found one for my back up camera monitor.

that is funny... maby ill look for a hot wire or something.. i just think that its dumb as hell for those to work when the vehicles off.
