My spare is mounted in the rear of my H2 but I need to take it off to tow my travel trailer. Is there a quick fix to take the arm that holds the tire off or do I need to pull all of it off, which includes the "tow hooks", etc.

 

Hmmm, it seems like we just had a thread about trailer towing.
Why don't you put an electric jack on your trailer A frame? Then, according to the really smart folks here, you won't have to take off your spare tire.

 

And I really like the "really smart folks" idea of just getting the electric jack- would only solve part of the problem, hence my question. My LP tanks are right up against the trailer jack so when I turn , the tire hits the LP tanks -not a great scenario -take the tire off and the tire bracket hits the tanks. So, there it is.

 

I'll have to look at my H2 when I get home to try to answer the question. Never removed the spare tire carrier before.

 

How about a leveling hitch with spring bars and extended insert?

 

Thank you- I'm putting on the leveling hitch today- hopefully that will take it out far enough- if not, oh well- took the bar off already to take the trailer to the shop- will put it back on after the main trip. Just sux carrying the spare inside. Thanks again.
