Default Question about bringing H2 into Canada

A gentleman in Canada wants to buy my H2 and bring it to Edmonton, however, he is having trouble because the RIV (registrar for imported vehicles) will not certify it because it has a Fabtech lift kit on it. Has anyone else run into this problem before, or know of how he can import the Hummer into Canada?

to pass an inspection he will have to remove the lift unless he is a close personal friends with someone who does inspections and is willing to falsify the documents usually alberta is pretty slack on inspections i found...................... maybe try another import agent and do not mention the lift.

Exactly!!! They'll never know unless you tell them, then all the RED FLAGS go up!!

The easiest way would be for the BUYER to fly down and DRIVE it back!!

At the border, you only have to pay GST. There is NO DUTY on any vehicles made in the USA! NAFTA!!!

Do you really think Dudly the Canadian Customs dude knows what a lifted vs non lifted H2 looks like??

A favorite and applicable proverb here: Do not make an issue of something that is not. Like Bugs Bunny says: what they don't know can't hurt em!

Everyone thinks the hummer is big and if they see it lifted they wont notice it because they think it comes that way

It's always easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission....
