Thinking about getting the Python 990 alarm installed on my H2. The question is do you have to have both ignition keys in order to get the alarm installed or can you just have 1 key? The reason why I ask is I seem to remember some years back I wanted an alarm installed on my expedition and the installer said it couldnt be done without the second key.(I am notorious for only having 1 key)Anybody know?

 

just called the install shop..they suggest that I go ahead and get the second key from the stealership. Any idea of how much they are going to charge for the second key?

 

Just buy one on eBay and get it cut!!!

Im pretty sure you will not have to have a second key. your expedition, must have had the bigger style key, that has a transponder in it that had to be put in the ignition by-pass.

 

the expedition key has a chip inside thats what i was told when i try to get an alarm on my old expedition they said that i had to get the old alarm remove to get the new alarm to work anyways but i have the viper alarm on my h2 and the key is not aproblem the only problem i have since is that when it gets cold sometimes the truck doesnt want to turn on i read in the manual that my factory alarm might have a problem i have to get that fix other than that im using the only key the dealer gave me when i bought the truck
