Default Question????

Hey guys brand new to the board just joined today. I have a question i went to purchase a 2006 h3 yesterday and ran into an issue that maybe you guys can help me with. When i went to put it into the 4wd hi lock there was a grinding noise sounding kind of like gears grinding and it would not lock in hi. It would however lock into 4wd low. they took it to the shop and called me this morning and told me that a bracket had came loose and the metal transmission hoses came out of the bracket and were grinding against the front drive train? Has anyone had this problem or ever heard of this happening just trying to make sure i dont buy a LEMON!! we all know how dealers can be. thanks for any input....

Have not had that issue. See if they will give you a 90 day warranty on that issue and.or take it somewhere else to be checked independently.

I have never heard of that either. Did you actually buy it, or you are still thinking about buying it?

Well, if you haven't bought it yet, as dumb as it sounds, I would ask for the Carfax report. I saw the Carfax on my vehicle, and it had a clean record, so I knew I would be getting a great vehicle.

How many miles? Should be covered by the 6yr/100k mile powertrain warranty, no?
