I've had my 06 H3 for three weeks now. My question is: would you guys change the oil or assume that it was changed at the dealer before beeing sold?

To be on the safe side, should I just...

Sorry about the dumb question.

Call them and ask!? (or just pull the dipstick and look......if it was just changed, you'll be able to tell!

Your truck will tell you when you need an oil change in the odometer window.

Most dealers do change the oil before a sale, however there are a few exceptions to the rule..

I purchased it from an Audi dealer. Hopefully they take such care. I will check the oil tomorrow. It's good to know though, that the vehicle will actually inform me as to when the oil needs to be serviced/changed. I'm loving this new toy more and more

Read your Owners Manual front to back and you can learn a lot. If any of your questions are not answered there, do a search on this forum and you can normally find the answer. Enjoy

Keep in mind that the 'change oil' light informs you by extrapilating from input data such as vehical speed, air intake, miles driven, transmission shifts, ect. It DOES NOT magically analize the oil for dirt content or viscostity. So, if someone at the dealership reset the indicator without actually changing the oil, it won't warn you for another 5,000 miles or so. It's a nice 'reminder feature', but not foolproof.
