i never heard about using the sire or bitch's name in the registered name, since you've already got the documentation that shows the bloodline. in the end it really only matters if you're going to show and breed them, otherwise it's just another piece of paper. i had 3 dogs that we registered, and all had odd names based on whatever song i heard last or towns with goofy names.
