Default Protocol Question

Hello Patrick/Mods: This newby has a question: Need a little guidance on how best to handle the posters, usually the new ones, when they do this https://www.hummerforums.com/m_83876...2/tm.htm#84081 The ZMag Billet stuff?

When he first came in, it was a good post in a topic started by a known regular. I figured no harm done.
Now it's like look at my stuff, my web site, interested in orders........????

My question is: when does this, if ever, cross the line? Should he be contacted about becoming a forum sponsor??? I do not want to burn bridges, just need some guidance as to best course of action. The one about Perfectionist Garage, that was started by the ebay guy for his business,I moved to off topic and tried to tactfully turn around into a post about garages/man cave........and I think it's going alright?? He is not hounding for orders??? IDK

Thanks all. Jeff

you are correct in your assumptions that these things are not permitted, but you shoudlnt "run them off". at some of my sites, the mods prefer to let me know, and i was "be the bad guy", but if you guys and girls are comfortable handling it yourself, then that will work too.

amanda is currently in the process of working with these guys, so i will write them right now and let them know that they need to be a vendor before posting about themselves, but for the most part, vendors who are active will have a title.

Thanks Patrick. I thought the first post was right on topic........no bangin drums, then it started to slide from there. Like I said, I will let ya know if I got questions.

On the side, that Zmag Billet does have some cool stuff, not for me, but it is cool

i PMed him...he has not replied back. some people dont want to pay to advertise, so they will inquire about it, and then start posting. those who show interest in advertising are treated differently than those who just start plugging their own company..but in some cases, people ask about ad rates as part of a plan to get a handful of free advertising.
