NO chip in an H3 key.

If you need a copy you can get them cheap from anywhere that does automotive keys. DO NOT get copies made at a dealer.

why American cars are too underdeveloped ?!
no chip, stereo has no code( mostly I assume not exactly sure about h3, and no connection to pcm I assume ,so it's isn't linked to one car I may be wrong)

upto 2010 and anyone can hijack the car in 1min ? just have to get over the steering lock and drive away? so awful

sorry man, just expressing my anger

of course I won't get a copy made at dealer for a piece of metal !!!!

thanks for your replay

OEM radios ARE linked to the vehicle. If you installed another OEM radio you would need to have a dealer reprogram it to be accepted.

You can install an aftermarket radio with no programming needed.

i know that method securing head unit

it has somehow linked to ecu via vin number or something else, i just wasn't sure it its implemented or no!

so if u managed to install it on another h3 would it ask for code? or it will need some special programming to make it work to new vin?

apologize i have no user manual nor code i bought the car used

if for example someone managed to steal my stereo and install it in ajother h3 but didnt mess with it and i retrived it!will it work instantly or remain locked??

does it have sort of cmos battery and stores information in ram or rom?

for example if i left h3 for 10yrs without battery will radio work wheni put battery back

i guess my questions make sence

thanks

Welcome to HF. Two important things to note:
1) This is an OLD Thread last posted in 2.5 years ago....
https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/n...bumping-23220/

2) You are asking an H2 question in the H3 section.

Do a search.
