Default Problems with dead bugs on your windshield?

I use Prestone Bug Wash.

http://www.prestone.com/products/win...sherFluids.php

I started using this stuff last summer and it's awesome. It eats away at the dead bug carcases (carci?(sp?)) and after a few minutes it just comes right off, at least for me.

It's a little bit more expensive then premium fluid, but it's definitely worth it. Spending a few extra bucks during the summer to keep that goop off your windshield is definitely worth it to me.

I know this sounds like a commercial, but I promise it works

One more thing; make sure you use up what you have already in there before adding this stuff. I made the mistake of mixing it with my current fluid when it was half full and the Prestone stuff got diluted to the point where it didn't work. If you completely use up what you have and fill the tank with this stuff, it will work 10 times better.

I use a thing from Canadian Tire that heats the washer fluid to 60 degrees Celsius and then just cheap fluid from Costco, right now the Washer fluid heater is CHeap at the Canadian tire by my office, it is only $10, well worth it!!!

I've never heard of that. Is it just an inline passthrough, or more like a fish tank heater?

I have the Hot Shot, what the Hummer dealer uses here in Ma. I bought one and love it especially when I drive up to Canada to go snowmobiling, nothing beats it!!

I do have an extra brand new one in the boxif anyone is interested in it to buy. I paid $160.00 for it and would be willing to let it go for $125.00 They are very easy to install. These are heavy duty units, not like the cheap ones you see at Auto Zoneor Pep Boys part stores. It comes with eveything you need to install it and it took me about 1/2 hour to install.

You are right Bruce, the cheap ones you have to buy two or three just in case.....the one you are talkng about is a very nice unit.

I was thinking of buying the washer heater but was concerned about it cracking the glass in the winter. If you are having good success with it I think I will try one too. Is it hard to install?
